Congratulations to Paul McMahan and the entire CJB Motorsports team for taking home the "Big Gator" for winning the overall event championship at Volusia Speedway Park. The championship is won by whomever accumulates the most points based on qualifying, heat race and feature finishes during the sprint car portion of the 2014 DIRTcar Nationals presented by Summit Racing Equipment.
The week started out with the Kistler Engines powered team picking up quick time with the UNOH All-Star Circuit of Champions and a second place finish in the A-Main. During World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series sanctioned events the All Star Performance, GF1 backed #51 picked up quick time twice and backed that up with solid finishes of 10th, 4th and 7th.
“You know this is pretty cool, all weekend long all I wanted is to get me a gator and I’m taking daddy home,” said Paul McMahan. “It’s a big confidence booster leaving here running well all week. This is a big wild card coming down here because you can be really good or really bad real easy. We’ll take home another top-10 and head to the next race in Vegas.”
McMahan also heads out West with the World of Outlaws with a share of the points lead along with defending series champion Daryn Pittman.
Kistler Engines also powered Dale Blaney to quick time at Bubba Raceway Park and helped Steve Kinser end his weekend at Volusia Speedway Park as a feature winner during the 2014 DIRTcar Nationals.
